PILOT MOUNTAIN- Sheriff William R. Hall of Surry County said yesterday that investigators do not know whether Ronda Mechelle Blaylock was killed in Surry County. Hall said that there was no indication of a struggle where Miss Blaylock's body was found Friday afternoon east of here near the Stokes County line.

Miss Blaylock's body was found in woods about 50 feet from a private road off Secrest Road in Surry County. A state medical examiner has said that she died of multiple stab wounds either Tuesday or Wednesday last week.

Hall said that a number of people in the Secrest Road area have been questioned but no one recalls having seen anything unusual last week.

Miss Blaylock was the 14 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. CHarles F. Blaylock of 8911 Broad Street in Rural Hall.

The Sheriff's departments of Surry and Forsyth counties are investigating the death. According to a statement from the Surry County Sheriff's Department, no one has reported seeing Miss Blaylock since she was seen in a blue pickup truck with an unidentified man Tuesday afternoon. Her parents reported her missing to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Department the next day.

A Forsyth County Detective said yesterday that Miss Blaylock was last seen by a girl friend who also rode in the pickup truck.

According to the detective, Miss Blaylock and the girlfriend had gone to the friend's house from Atkins High School Tuesday afternoon. They then walked to Miss Blaylock's home, where Miss Blaylock changed clothes. The two girls then started back to the friend's house.

On the way, the two girls were picked up by the man in the blue truck, and the friend was taken to her house. No one had heard from Miss Blaylock since that time. Her body was found three days later. Hall said Monday that Miss Blaylock was partially disrobed when her body was found. But he said that she had not been beaten. Hall said that authorities have not determined whether Miss Blaylock was the victim of a sexual assault.
